Media

Premium

Premium Media is either cast or calendered PVC film. Generally, these products have longer durability, conformability, and longevity. These are excellent for vehicle graphics and long-term signage applications. The durability of the ink system is a key factor limiting the life of the printed graphic. Premium films are used for irregular or compound surfaces. Most FDC wide-format media is designed for computer cutting and excellent weedablity. Select a premium film for more demanding applications.

Intermediate

Intermediate Media is generally calendered PVC film. Used as a cost alternative where superior conformability or adhesion properties are not required or for shorter term applications that do not need the performance of a premium film. Banners, promotional signage, flat surface applications are typical uses for Intermediate digital media. Intermediate Media typically fit both “general purpose” and specialty uses. Products such RTape Vinyl efx metallized films are digitally printable and the resulting printing can create a very unique printed graphic.

Promotional

These films are offered at a lower price point with lower durability, low conformity and the print quality would not be as high. Promotional Media is ideal for short-term graphics use.

Laminates

Premium

These films can be either cast or calendered films with PVC technology. They have longer durability, conformability, and longevity. These are excellent for vehicle graphics and long-term signage applications. Premium Overlaminate films are used for irregular or compound surfaces. The consistency of these products produces superior laminated images in terms of image clarity, minimal distortion and UV resistance.

Intermediate

These films are generally calendered PVC films. Used as a cost or performance alternative to a Premium Overlaminate, intermediate films are preferred for short term applications which include banners, short term signage, point of purchase displays and general signage and backlit signs. They can also be used for vehicle marking that are flat or slightly curved. Intermediate overlaminates are meant to be matched up with Intermediate media. Generally, these overlaminates provide less image clarity, moderate distortion, haze and blemishes – and limited UV resistance.

Promotional

These films are offered at a lower price point with lower durability, low conformability. These overlaminates are generally for temporary applications and provide no UV stabilizers.

Mounting Films

Mounting films provide adhesion for non-adhesive backed prints to a range of substrates. Backers provide stiffness for roll-up or slide-in graphics. Adhesive films use no carrier and provide no stiffness to the non-adhesive backed print.

Mounting Films

Mounting films have a film carrier coated on one or two sides. Typically, these films are used for general purpose applications when mounting a print to a substrate.

Backers

Backers provide stiffness to a non-adhesive backed graphic. Ideal for slide in and roll up graphic applications.

Adhesive Films

Adhesive films are simply films with only adhesive – no carrier. Available in clear or white, used for images that need to mounted to a surface or substrate.

Premium 3M™ Fine Line Tape 2018

FDC series 2018 is a 3M Brand 218 Premium Fine Line Tape – This Scotch brand fine line high performance backed tape has a low profile with high adhesive properties. This tape allows for excellent paint lines and flexibility for custom painting. This tape also stretches easily for smooth curves, yet can be easily torn by hand with a quick tearing action. 2018 has adhesive properties that allow taping over fresh paint jobs sooner than paper tapes with less chance of imprint damage. Can be qualified to meet Military Specification MIL-T2159D Amendment 2 Type III.

Intermediate 3M™ Scotch™ Medium Tack Paint Masking Tape 2050

FDC series 2050 is a 3M Scotch Brand 2050 Painting Masking Tape – This medium-high adhesion tape is specifically designed to release cleanly from previously painted or varnished surfaces such as window, door and wall trim. 2050 is an Interior and exterior tape with a 72-hour clean removal adhesive. Do not use on wallpaper, wallboard, wood finishes, or poorly bonded finishes.

High-Tack Application Tape 2600

FDC series 2600 is a R-Tape 4075 High-Tack Application Tape – This product is a standard weight high-tack paper designed specifically for transfer application where small text or hard-to-lift vinyls are used. This tape also works well on embossed or rough vinyls & plastics. The 2600 series is excellent for wet applications and has a clean removal, without hazing or discoloring.

Medium-Tack Application Tape 2601

FDC series 2601 is a R-Tape 4050 Medium-Tack Application Tape – This product is a standard weight medium-tack paper designed specifically for pre-mask and pre-spaced graphics. This tape is used as an all-purpose transfer tape that works well on medium sized graphics. The 2601 series is excellent for pallet mask for textile screen printers. The tape can also be used for wet applications and has a clean removal, without hazing or discoloring. MIL-T-38727A Type II.

Low-Tack Application Tape 2602

FDC series 2602 is a R-Tape 4000 Low-Tack Application Tape – This product is a standard weight medium-tack paper designed specifically for pre-mask and transfer applications, and metal protection. This tape can be used in a variety of pre-mask and application tape functions including, but not limited to, automotive pin striping of single and multiple decorative stripes.

Premium Low-Medium Clear Application Tape 2612

FDC series 2612 is a R-Tape AT60 Premium Low-Medium Clear Application Tape - This is a matte finish, polypropylene with excellent clarity, abrasion resistance and lay-flat characteristics. This product is manufactured with acrylic adhesives designed for clean pick-up and transfer performance on all brands of cast or calendered vinyl. The stable adhesive will not build in tack level when applied to vinyl graphics for extended periods of storage; therefore, transfer is never a problem.

Premium High-Tack Conform with RLA Application Tape 2614

FDC series 2614 is a R-Tape 4075 RLA Premium High-Tack Conform series with RLA Application Tape - This is a standard weight high-tack paper tape combined with a high tensile, elongation with a tear resistant paper it gives ability to store or roll finished graphics without the lifting or tunneling of tape from liner. RLA technology has improved adhesion to paper or film release liners, while maintaining the specified adhesion level to the vinyl or printed graphic, preventing tunneling, wrinkling, edge curling of stacked or rolled graphics.
