Gatorfoam ®
Gatorfoam has a foam center of Dow styrofoam polystyrene with a Luxcell veneer. The veneer is a multilayered, resin-impregnated, Kraft paper surface. Styrofoam is a much harder form of polystyrene foam and is much more durable, but does not have any better aging properties. The hardness of the core combined with the Luxcell veneer results in a board that can only be cut with a table saw, which significantly reduces its ease for use in picture framing and storage. The major advantage of Gatorfoam is its thickness which includes 3/16, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/2. The 3/16, to 1-inch thicknesses are made in 30" x40" and 40"x60". One inch and 11/2 inches are available in 48"x96" as well. Applications

Meet Gatorplast(TM)! The member of the Gator family from International Paper that's engineered specifically to save time and eliminate setup problems in screen printing applications.
Gatorplast graphic arts panels are a laminate of lightweight polystyrene foam and high-impact polystyrene facers. These are bonded in a special process that permanently joins the surfaces to form a rugged, durable and lightweight panel. And, one that offers permanent solutions to some pressing graphic arts problems. Gatorplast combines the legendary strength and rigidity of Gatorfoam with the ability to be screen printed directly without having to first prime or precoat the surface. The result is significant savings in time, labor and materials. As well as a great looking sign or display that has all the ruggedness of Gatorfoam, but is easier to fabricate. Plus, Gatorplast has a special bright blue- Gatorplast solves problems for sign makers, too. Its high-impact polystyrene facers allow vinyl letter to be applied and removed or repositioned without damaging the surface. It can be cut with ease in a variety of ways, including table saw, razor knife, or guillotine. Detailed shapes and contours can be added with a router. And, Gatorplast can be glued using readily available adhesiv es without the need for additional surface preparation. Gator plast can be used both indoors and outdoors, since the polystyrene foam and facers are virtually unaffected by moisture. Like all polystyrene products, however, Gatorplast should be protected from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. We recommend treating the capsheet and foam with a UV-blocking coating in outdoor applications. For complete details on Gatorplast, call us or contact us for more information. |
