Delrin plastic is a form of Acetal polymer, a homopolymer plastic created by DuPont. Delrin displays a number of outstanding traits not found in metals such as: Natural lubricity, high rigidity and mechanical strength, long term fatigue resistance when enduring repeated impact, and a high resistance to moisture. This unique combination of quality characteristics makes processing Delrin an ideal candidate for injection molding because the surface finish of correctly molded parts replicate the surface finish and shape of the mold. Standard extrusion equipment can be used to extrude the resin into rods, slabs, sheeting, and small diameter tubing
Regal-Plastics offers Delrin sheet in a range of melt flow series spanning the highest viscousity to most fluid: 100, 300, 500 through 900. These properties, along with its ability to machine easily have made Acetal plastic one of the most widely used engineering grade thermoplastics.
