Our textured acrylic sheet opens up new application opportunities. The matte, textured, and patterned finishes are especially suited for table tops, privacy panels, and lighting panels. The materials offer benefits such as:

  • More resistant to scratches
  • Durable, lightweight, and shatter-resistant
  • Still allows natural light to pass through
  • Maintains its finish
  • Highly aesthetic

What the Surface Finishes Are Actually For

P-95 is a single-sided light matte finish, subtle texture, reduces glare, and still transmits good natural light. DP-95 is the double-sided version of the same finish, used when both faces of the sheet are visible. P-32 is a deeper, more pronounced pattern that provides stronger light diffusion and more visual privacy. Most lighting panel and privacy screen applications land on DP-95 or P-32, depending on how much diffusion the project needs.

All three finishes are more scratch-resistant than standard clear acrylic, which is the main reason they get specified for table tops, reception counters, and any surface that sees regular contact. If you're working from a spec sheet that references a brand name like Acrylite or Plexiglass for a textured grade, our plastic trade name reference maps all common acrylic brand names to their generic equivalents.

Where Textured Acrylic Gets Specified

Table tops and retail surfaces - The scratch resistance bump over clear acrylic makes a real difference at counter height. Restaurants, reception desks, and retail fixtures all use textured acrylic for exactly this reason.

Privacy panels and office partitions - Textured acrylic lets light pass through while breaking the direct sightline. It's become a standard material for office dividers, shower screens, and room partitions where you want separation without making a space feel closed off.

Lighting diffusers and backlit panels - The textured surface spreads light evenly without hot spots, which is why it ends up in LED panels, illuminated signage, and display case lighting. It's one of the better light diffusion materials at this price point.

Plastic window glazing - Textured and frosted acrylic is used as a glass alternative in plastic window glazing applications, including privacy glass replacements, bathroom windows, and interior architectural glazing. Lightweight, shatter-resistant, and easy to cut to fit on site.

Security and institutional facilities - Correctional facilities, mental health units, and hospitals frequently specify textured or frosted acrylic for interior windows and panels where standard clear glazing creates visibility or safety concerns. Our security glazing materials page covers these applications in more detail.

Playground and recreational equipment - The scratch resistance and shatter resistance of textured acrylic make it a practical choice for playground and recreational equipment panels, where surfaces take regular abuse.

Cutting and Fabrication

Textured acrylic cuts, routes, and machines the same way as standard acrylic. One thing worth knowing before you start: the textured face scuffs easily during handling and fabrication, so always keep the masking on until the very last step. Our cut-to-size service handles textured acrylic with same-day turnaround, clean, chip-free edges to ±0.06" tolerance. Bring your dimensions, and we'll size it for you.

Budget-Conscious? Check Overstock First

Before ordering full-price stock, it's worth checking our overstock acrylic page. Inventory changes frequently, and discounted first-quality sheets occasionally appear there. Same material, lower price when available.
