Polypropylene sheet exhibits high corrosion resistance, temperature resistance, and chemical resistance. It is resistant to organic solvents, degreasing agents, acids, and electrolytic attack, and is a lightweight material that is stain, moisture, and crack resistant. This, in combination with the material’s ability to resist most strong acids and bases at relatively high temperatures and concentrations, make the perfect candidate for tanks and chemical handling.
Polypropylene sheets are also abrasion resistant, impact resistant, and stress crack resistant making it a great option for these common applications:
- Acid tanks and liners
- Semiconductor processing equipment
- Machine parts
Polypropylene is a homopolymer which is similar to a copolymer. The primary difference is that copolymers have a higher impact strength when compared to homopolymers. If you think your project needs a higher impact strength, check out HDPE.
